At Bridges Counseling and Holistic Wellness, providing the most current and appropriate intervention to address each client’s needs and goals is a major priority. Mental health and neuroscience research and treatments are constantly changing and evolving. Our Story
Bridges Counseling is a product of Joleen Halloran’s (business owner/therapist) passion to help others live a fuller and healthier life. Joleen, after a 25-year career in IT management, started a small business in hypnotherapy and life coaching before going on to get her academic and licensing credentials to become a mental health counselor. Becoming a mental health service provider has been a life-long dream of Joleen’s. Joleen chose counseling as a profession because of the professional counselors’ treatment philosophy towards wellness as opposed to the medical model of illness. Joleen is constantly expanding her therapeutic skills and certifications to provide a broad set of skills to address the uniqueness of each client’s health and wellness objectives.

Insurance
I work with several mental health service companies that provide billing and account management services to allow me to provide immediate therapy services with many in-network insurance companies. Working through these agencies insures protection for both you and myself for accurate billing, customer care support, and record keeping. I am available to provide in-network services with the following insurance:
- United Healthcare – using www.soundermind.com
- Aetna – using www.sondermind.com
- Cigna – using www.headway.com
- Optum – using www.growtherapy.com
- BCBS – using www.headway.com
- Oscar Health – using www.headway.com
If you choose to stay out of network, many insurance plans will reimburse their clients a percentage of out-of-pocket expenses after a deductible is met. We encourage you to contact your insurance company to understand the limits of your benefits.
Questions that you might ask your insurance company include:
Do I have out-of-network behavioral health benefits to see a licensed professional counselor?
If so, what percentage (co-insurance) do you cover?
What is the deductible, and how much of the deductible have I met?
How many sessions are covered, and for what time period?
How do I access the form(s) needed to submit a request for reimbursement?
If you find that you have out-of-network benefits you would like to utilize, we do still require payment at the time of service. A receipt and a diagnostic recommendation can be provided for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
It is important to note that insurance companies will require a psychiatric diagnosis for reimbursement which does become a part of your permanent health record in your insurance portfolio.
